The Greatest Fictional Coach Bracket: Final Four

The Bracket: Week 2 Results (SEE FULL BRACKET)

The third week is complete in our search for the greatest fictional coach of all time. We had some more interesting matchups this go round. Four coaches are left. Who will move on to the championship round?

Voting Continues Below

Gordon Bombay (1) vs. Morris Buttermaker (3) Gordon Bombay rolls on. As the number one seed in the Young Guns, Bombay has had a pretty easy schedule so far. Let’s see how he holds up against Mick. Norman Dale (1) vs. Mickey Goldmill (2) Closest matchup by far. This was the first time in this bracket we had two elite coaches pitted against each other. We had to extend the voting period since it was tied for so long. It came down to the wire (50/50 all the way), but Mickey scraped by. Can he beat Gordon Bombay now? Eric Taylor (1) vs. Tony D’Amato (2) Eric Taylor won this matchup with surprising ease. Clear eyes, full hearts, can’t lose! Don’t worry, Tony D knows how to lose like a man. Eric Taylor now takes on Mr. Miyagi in what is sure to be a close matchup. Mr. Miyagi (1) vs. Lou Brown (3) Major League has somewhat of a cult following. Perhaps that was why this matchup was close for so long. In the final stretch, the better coach came out on top. Mr. Miyagi now faces Coach Eric Taylor.

Your call. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4pZHXQ698Ok I said you need to strive to be better than everyone else. I didn’t say you needed to be better than everyone else. But you gotta try. That’s what character is: It’s in the try.  -Eric Taylor https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bg21M2zwG9Q We make sacred pact. I promise teach karate to you, you promise learn. I say, you do, no questions. -Mr. Miyagi [socialpoll id=”2234127″]

Gordon Bombay (The Mighty Ducks) vs. Mickey Goldmill (Rocky)

Mickey barely made this matchup whereas Gordon Bombay had a pretty easy path to get here. Was it deserved? Mick’s looking to knock this Duck out. Who ya got?

Ever seen a duck fight? No way. Why? Because the other animals are afraid. They know that if they mess with one duck, they gotta deal with the whole flock. I’m proud to be a Duck, and I’d be proud to fly with any one of you. So how about it? Who’s a Duck?” -Gordon Bombay https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CObJZf2YzDw You’re gonna eat lightnin’; you’re gonna crap thunder. -Mickey Goldmill [socialpoll id=”2234423″]
