Football Tips: How To Run The Stop And Go Route

Former 1st-Team All American and current CoachUp coach Reggie Rembert goes in-depth on how to run the perfect stop-and-go route. To perfect this route, players must drive five yards, chop their feet, plant their feet, flash their hands, immediately turn upfield, catch the ball and score.

Reggie Rembert: Hi, I’m Reggie Rembert: former first team All-American, from the United States Air Force Academy, and CoachUp coach. And this is the stop and go. It’s important to run good routes to create separation from the defender, and to make it a lot easier to make the catch. For the stop and go route, you’re gonna have your inside foot forward, drive to five yards, chop your feet, plant on your outside, turn towards the quarterback, flash your hands like you’re gonna catch the ball. And then turn right back upfield, catch the ball over your shoulders and score a touchdown.
