Info About the Event

Proper Basketball Camp in conjunction with the jr. NBA is proud to offer a premiere youth summer basketball program for kids ages 6 to 14. Our founding partners collectively have more than 60 years of coaching experience at the college level and have received some of the highest accolades attainable in basketball. Additionally, our partners have experience establishing, managing, and working at prestigious summer sports camps throughout New England. Our mission is to provide our campers with a wonderful summer experience while they acquire new skills, learn good sportsmanship, make new friends, and have fun.

Proper Basketball campers will learn correct mechanics and techniques such as dribbling, passing, and shooting. They will complete camp with better athletic understanding and knowledge of the game of basketball. Through fun and competitive games, contests, and drills, staff will help everyone build self-confidence, increase agility, gain strength, and improve self-esteem. Competitiveness is part of most sports, but not the only part! While teaching proper fundamentals of the game, we will stress teamwork and fair play. If basketball is not a camper’s main or only sport it does not matter. It will still be fun, enriching, and a healthy way to spend vacation days.

Additional Info

Safety

Safety comes first. Proper Basketball wants families to rest assured that their children are safe. It is important that parents/guardians provide us with necessary medical information when filling out the registration packet and update us if there are changes. In the event of an emergency we want to be as prepared as possible to adequately handle the situation. Our staff members are trained in CPR/AED and First Aid. During camp hours, we will have a college-level certified athletic trainer available. Staff will make sure campers are hydrated and nourished. Because some campers may have nut allergies, we ask parents/guardians to please refrain from sending any food or snacks containing nuts to camp.

Campers will be required to stay inside the Gosman Athletic Center. Campers will be walked to and from bathrooms, concession areas, and athletic training rooms. Campers must remain on site throughout camp hours unless otherwise arranged in writing between parent/guardian and staff.
