My name is Justin Tahner and I am a former Assistant Boys Basketball Coach at Wekiva High School, in which I coached two NCAA Division I players and a few NCAA Division II and III players. I also was an Assistant NCCAA Men's Basketball Coach at Florida Christian College in which we took our 2013 team to the NCCAA Final Four in Springfield, MO. During this season I worked specifically with guards and handled a lot of individual sessions focusing on Shooting/Ballhandling. I have experience as a coach at many Orlando Magic Summer Camps, and have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sport and Exercise Science with a specialization in Coaching Basketball. I took coursework such as Motivational Aspects of Athletic Performance, Coaching Theory and Coaching Methods and Principles. I am also CPR/First Aid/AED Certified through the American Red Cross.

I attended Circle Christian School where I was a multi-sport athlete. I primarily focused on basketball in which I played 4 years of varsity, 3 years as a starter. My sophomore year I received All-Tournament First Team at the Lyman HS Greyhound Invitational. As a Senior I was 07-08 1A District 10 Player of the Year, 07-08 All Orange County Honorable Mention, 07 Kaylyn High Invitational MVP (The Masters Academy). I averaged 19 ppg while shooting over 50% from the 3pt. line and was team captain. I was also invited to compete in the Dodge Florida Shootout which is a highly coveted showcase for the top recruits. In one year of college as a Freshman at Florida Christian College I was a starter. As a combo guard I averaged around 6 ppg.

As a coach in my one on one training sessions I will always cater to the specific athlete's needs. I will analyze where they are at developmentally and what they need to work on, from their I will formulate an individualized plan for success. I will also consider any specific needs of the athlete and parents. My focus is on Shooting, Agility and Ballhandling specifically. From mechanics to release and everything in between, we are trying to find the perfect shot for each player. We will cover stationary shooting, shooting off the dribble, shooting off screens, and live game situational shooting. My goal with ballhandling is to make you the best ballhandler you can be and for it to translate from the practice court to a live game. Please do not think that my program is only catered to guards. Bigs are definitely going to benefit from my program as well. My goal is for every player that I have the privilege to train to improve dramatically in these specific areas while at the same time becoming fundamentally sound.
